Physical EducationMay 13-
Fitness Lab Exercises Gym this year has been really cool because along with the new construction, our school acquired a fitness lab. It has about 15 cardio machines (bikes, treadmills, and ellipticals) and 15 weight machines. The first half of our block is spent in the lab. We do fifteen minutes on cardio and fifteen minutes on weights. Reflection- I think health is a really important part of my life. While I enjoy school and I think being intelligent is really important, your health and fitness should always be a priority. I like to spend a little time each day just working out or doing some form of exercise. It helps keep me focused on my school work. I like working out at school because they has really helpful machines, and you can see how the different settings test your body. I also have learned about BMI and all of the different tests you can preform to find out about your physical needs and what shape you are in. OrchestraJanuary 22 and May 26-
To be a successful orchestra, you have to have an audience! We try to put out a flyer every time we have an event. This year we have had two concerts, and we are preparing for our third. We have also had a fundraiser. Just like the Student Government fundraiser, we go to a local restaurant and receive a part of the profit and donations. Reflection- I have helped to make several flyers, and I can really use this skill in the future! It has to look good, be easy to read, and clearly state the information. I am the Public Relations Officer for my orchestra and it's really helpful to know how to use word and other types of document creators in order to advertise for events. I also enjoy doing these kinds of things, so it's fun!
